CapF9 was created to connect smart capital (both financial and human) with innovation We accelerate great ideas.
We have access to an international network of angel investors, high net worth individuals, family offices and other investors committed to investing in innovation. We work with technology-driven Start Ups, Scale Ups and Small and Medium Enterprises ("SMEs") with a focus on Irish based companies. We provide support on debt and equity fundraising as well as capital advisory support. We also work with these companies in building to scale, business planning and strategic implementation.
We have collaborated with some of Ireland's best and most exciting Tech Start Ups across a number of sectors including FinTech, RegTech, AgTech and TravelTech, as well as in the business to business and business to consumer software arenas. We not only match the right capital with the right opportunity, but believe in delivering a fair and transparent transaction for all, where the interest of founders and investors are aligned for long term success.
We also provide specialist consultancy services in FinTech, alternative investing, fund and innovation financial solutions arenas. We drive innovation in finance.
Barry Brennan is Founder and Managing Director of CapF9 Ventures and has a passion for finance, technology and innovation.
Barry holds a LL.B. (Hons) Bachelor in Law from Trinity College, Dublin and a 1st class honours BSc (Hons) in Digital Technology, Design and Innovation from the Dublin Institute of Technology. He was admitted as a barrister-at-law in England and Wales and as an attorney-at-law in New York. Barry is a member of the advisory team of Circadian Capital, a UK authentication and digital security company. He is a Board Observer at Hexafly, a sustainable AgTech company and at Governor Software, a global RegTech company. He's a Non Executive Board Director for a number of international investment companies in Ireland, a business mentor for Enterprise Ireland, Ireland's government agency for enterprise development and growth and an expert evaluator for the European Commission's Horizon 2020 Research and Innovation Program. Barry is also a very active member of the Halo Business Angels Network in the Bloom Technology Syndicate.
Barry has 20+ years international experience as a derivative lawyer, corporate financier, venture investor, advisor and investment banker at two of the world's leading global financial institutions, Rabobank in Dublin and Citigroup in London. As European Head of Client Solutions at Rabobank, he managed a large multidisciplinary financial innovation team located in 5 countries, building bespoke financial solutions for some of the world's leading food, agricultural, financial and industrial companies and has direct deal experience in Europe, Asia and the Americas. Having developed, led and implemented innovative financial solutions throughout his career, he understands the challenges innovators face building new products and solutions.
Barry also has extensive experience in the Start Up arena from participating on pre accelerators, investing in, fundraising for and working on strategic planning for a large variety of early stage and scaling technology enterprises. Barry and CapF9 have arranged funding for and invested in a range of technology related companies across Ireland and the UK across AgTech, FinTech, SaaS and RegTech.
